What can I expect?
It’s simple. Expect a conversation when we will schedule a session time and date. An important part of the process is to co-collaborate with you. I want to discuss your ideas. Within one to three weeks before your session we will discuss clothing suggestions and directions. The studio is always available and there is no extra fee for any location within the Triangle Area. There are some beautiful areas to choose from. Beach portraits are available in summer for additional travel fees. On location, we might move between a few spots that are in close proximity (most likely close walking distance) to each other. These locations will depend on the time of day and the ages of the people I am photographing.
How many images do you take?
I don't limit myself to a certain number of images, but generally after editing you’ll receive at least 50 images for each hour of photographic coverage.
Black & white or color?
No! Any image is available in both color AND black and white. Controlling my digital process allows me to do this in addition to enhancements and special effects. Some examples are retouching, selective color, collages, infrared and sepia toning.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. I want you to love your portraits. Together we invest time, effort and expense in their creation and you deserve the very finest work possible. If your finished portraits are not as you want them to be, I will make new ones at no additional charge. I earn my reputation one client at a time-with my talent, expertise, quality and service.
How long until I get to see proofs?
A proofing session will be scheduled about 2 weeks after the session when you can decide on your order. If you need additional time, you can schedule as many appointments as you need. If logistics require, you may view your proofs on-line with a personal gallery for your image proofs. After your order is received, a complete set of digital proofs may be requested on CD or DVD. Proof magazines and/or proof prints are available for an additional charge.
Do you offer special products?
Canvas Craftsman portraits are my signature and come with any print collection. We also offer custom collaging, archival DVD’s, slideshows, note cards, photo greeting cards, keepsake books and traditional albums.
What if I want to order prints at a later date?
To insure your prices at a later date stay the same as the prices listed at the time of your session, please keep your price list. Prices are subject to change and new prices might apply. Your online gallery will be available for a limited time. Online galleries may be password protected by request.
What happens to the originals?
I am always respectful of people’s images. I take the protection of your images very seriously. I will archive the originals for at least ten years and original digital files are for sale after three years for $350. This can be arranged before your sitting.
All digital files, prints and proofs are the property of Jennifer Weinberg Photography and protected by copyright law. Originals may not be copied, downloaded or digitally manipulated in any way without written permission. All images may be used for self-promotion and advertisement.
People ask all the time what colors to wear for portraits; an important element to discuss before any session. In general, choose matching solid colors and stay away from patterns. Try to coordinate by tonality - all light OR dark tones. Denim, khaki, crisp white shirts, cream, black and navy blue are good.
Family Groups: This is always a tricky clothing subject. With groups you need to be careful that you wear neutral colors or at least colors that compliment each other. Jeans look great on everyone and a complimentary shirt for each family member works well. Stay away from patterns. Denim, khaki, white shirts, cream, black and navy blue are good bets. Think about props with the season in consideration...hats and scarves work great in the winter, sunglasses are fun for summer.
Children: Kids look great in clothes that are colorful. Girls are cute with bright tights or playful dresses. Boys are adorable in denim and solid shirts. Although the children are usually in charge of the schedule, plan a few outfit choices. Bring favorite toys, a blanket or your family pet.
Teens: Teens reflect their personality and I allow time for changing into different outfits. I also can provide a makeup artist to help get the look we want; this also helps often with retouching. I like to see girls dressed in really funky outfits with cool jewelry and shoes. Boys look great with jeans and graphic t-shirts or favorite sports paraphernalia. Teens are encouraged to bring an instrument, uniforms, pets or personal high school mementos.
These are just suggestions and if you have any questions before your session please feel free to give me a call. |
